2023 Ford Edge
The Ford Edge is a top contender for shoppers looking to get a two-row midsize SUV. For the 2023 model year, it has a few updates, including a new optional interior appearance package for the ST. On other Edge models, the perimeter alarm now comes standard. The SE and SEL have a new silver honeycomb grille, and silver fog light bezels now come with the SEL with the Convenience Package. Here's a look at some more details for the 2023 Ford Edge.
Trim Levels (Exterior)
The entry-level Edge SE comes with 18-inch wheels, LED headlights, and active grille shutters to help make it more fuel-efficient. Step up to the SEL for the optional Convenience Package with a power liftgate. The ST-Line has black exterior trim elements, body-colored bumpers, and 20-inch gloss black wheels, while the Titanium comes with 19-inch wheels, a hands-free liftgate, and rain-sensing windshield wipers. For a sportier look, the ST comes with 20-inch black-painted wheels, a sport-tuned suspension, and black exterior trim elements.
Engine (Power)
All Edge models except the ST get power from a 2.0-liter four-cylinder gas engine that puts out 250 horsepower and 275 pound-feet of torque. This powertrain works with Ford's eight-speed automatic transmission. The ST gets a 2.7-liter turbo V-6 engine with 335 horsepower and 380 pound-feet of torque that uses a seven-speed automatic transmission. Both engines and all models come standard with all-wheel drive.
Performance
Both of the engines provide the Edge with plenty of power. The base offers a good balance of power and fuel efficiency, and the ST's turbo engine is a good choice for drivers who want some excitement behind the wheel but still need the practicality of a crossover. When equipped with the four-cylinder engine, you can expect to get up to 28 mpg on the highway and 21 mpg in the city. The ride in any Edge is smooth and comfortable. It has a responsive steering system, and the suspension does an excellent job of smoothing out rough pavement.
Interior
There's room for five in the Edge. It comes standard with dual-zone automatic climate control, cloth upholstery, and manually adjustable front seats. The SEL adds synthetic leather upholstery and power-adjustable, heated front seats. Choose the ST-Line for red accent stitching in the cabin or the Titanium for leather upholstery. A 12-inch touchscreen comes standard in the Edge and houses Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The SEL has a nine-speaker stereo system and offers wireless charging as an option. Stepping up to the Titanium makes the wireless charging standard and adds a 12-speaker stereo system.
Safety Features
Every 2023 Ford Edge comes with Ford Co-Pilot360. This group of safety systems includes a blind-spot monitor with rear cross-traffic alert, lane-keep assist, automatic high beam headlights, forward collision warning, pedestrian detection, and an automatic braking system that will apply the brakes if it senses an imminent frontal collision. The SEL offers Co-Pilot360 Assist+ with adaptive cruise control and evasive steering assist, and you can also add this group to the Titanium and ST-Line. The Titanium adds to all these features with front parking sensors, the Lux Package with a front-facing camera, and an automated parking system.
