2024 Ford Ranger

The entry-level Ranger is the XL. It has 16-inch steel wheels, manually-adjustable side exterior mirrors, black steel bumpers, and front tow hooks. Stepping up to the XLT gets you 17-inch alloy wheels, fog lights, power-adjustable side exterior mirrors, and body-colored bumpers. The Lariat is up next with LED headlights, keyless entry, power-folding and heated side exterior mirrors, and LED fog lights. The new Raptor has 17-inch wheels, 33-inch all-terrain tires, Fox Live Valve shocks, and a reinforced frame. Loading up the bed at night is made easier with the available LED bed lighting.

The entry-level engine for the 2024 Raptor is a 2.3-liter four-cylinder gas engine with 270 horsepower. A new 2.7-liter twin-turbo V-6 with 315 horsepower is available with the XLT and Lariat. Both powertrains work with a 10-speed automatic transmission, and you can get either rear-wheel drive or four-wheel drive, no matter which model you choose. The Raptor gets its own version of the V-6 engine. The 3.0-liter twin-turbo V-6 generates 405 horsepower.

Both of the Raptor's engines have the power to tow up to 7,500 pounds. Rear-wheel drive models can handle a 1,805-pound payload in the bed, and four-wheel drive models can carry up to 1,711 pounds. The new Raptor has some impressive performance capabilities. It has several drive modes, including a Baja mode that has an anti-lag system to keep the turbos going for several seconds, even after you back off the throttle.

There are some significant updates in the Ranger's cabin. A second glovebox is available for extra storage, and improved second-row storage under the rear seats makes it easy to store extra gear. A 10.1-inch touchscreen comes standard, with a 12-inch center touchscreen with the SYNC4A infotainment system is available. This upgraded system puts new connected features right within easy reach. A 4G LTE modem comes standard, and you'll also get FordPass Connect. The Raptor has a driver information display with dedicated screens for off-road information and drive modes, and all Raptor models offer navigation, USB ports, and wireless charging.

Every 2024 Ford Ranger comes with the Co-Pilot360 suite of advanced driver aids. This bundle includes forward collision warning, automatic braking, automatic high-beam headlights, and lane-departure warning. It also comes with a blind-spot monitor, rear cross-traffic alert, and lane-keep assist. The higher trims will add some more advanced safety features, such as intersection collision mitigation, reverse automatic braking, evasive steering assist, and adaptive cruise control. The 2024 Ranger also offers trailering aids. The trailer brake controller and Pro Trailer Backup Assist come standard on the Raptor and are offered as an option for the XLT and Lariat.
