The Top Three Chinese Restaurants Near Howell, MI

New China King

New China King is located at 1104 E Grand River Ave, and the address is important because they do not deliver. You can stop by to dine in at their lovely establishment, or you can go through the drive-through to pick up your take-out fix. The atmosphere here is great: you’ll enjoy hanging out. The staff are friendly, portions are reasonable, and the prices are excellent. And the food is clearly homemade. you can tell they didn’t just buy frozen stuff at the supermarket it and throw it in a fryer.

We really recommend anything on their menu that has the pepper symbol next to it, as they do spicy right here at New China Kind. Try their Gon Bo Gai Ding, the lemon chicken, the Gai Kow, and the spring rolls. If you want something different from your run-of-the-mill takeout dishes, try their Hunan shrimp and scallop dinner, the Szechuan beef, or the Singapore rice noodles.

Golden House Restaurant

New China King’s closest competitor is Golden House, located at 1241 E Grand River Ave. Fortunately, the healthy competition keeps us awash in great Chinese food. Golden House has won awards for best Chinese food in the county, and it shows. This is especially a nice spot to stop by for a dining experience. The staff and owners are friendly and will make you feel welcome.

Be sure to try the spring rolls, the egg drop soup, and the great dumplings they serve up here. Their wonton soup is amazing and features homemade wontons that are better than anything you’ve ever tried. Be sure to also try their almond chicken, the cashew stir fry, and the silver noodles, which are stir-fried with Spanish onions, carrots, egg, green onions, and your choice of chicken, pork, or beef. The noodles are all hand-made from scratch, too.

China Best

At 138 W Highland Rd, China best is doing its best to bring the best takeout to Howell. What really stands out to you here are the great portions for the price. You can dine in, but takeout is what they’re best known for. You can order online or by phone.

You’ll want to try their egg rolls, the fried dumplings, and the BBQ pork buns. All their chow meins are really good, and the shrimp fried rice is a real standout offering. Don’t miss their chicken with cashews or the Szechuan roast pork, if you want our advice. And if you have kids (or adults) who just don’t want Chinese, they do have french fries, chicken nuggets, and fried chicken wings. Almost anyone will be pleased with their almond cookies and mini donuts, too.
