Exploring the Trim Levels of the 2025 Ford Ranger

Whether you need a pickup for daily driving or extreme adventures, the 2025 Ford Ranger lineup has something for everyone. You can choose between various powertrains and enjoy comfortable rides in the five-seat cabin.

XL

A jack of all trades, the entry-level XL trim delivers power for most trucking needs. Under its hood is a 2.3L EcoBoost engine that generates 270 horsepower and 310 pound-feet of torque. A 10-speed automatic transmission and standard rear-wheel drive provide efficient driving dynamics on most surfaces, while a ground clearance of 9.3 inches allows you to tackle the less beaten paths.

Four-wheel drive is available and a great upgrade if you want to explore rugged territories. Utility comes standard on this model, which can tow up to 7,500 pounds when properly equipped. The bed offers a cargo capacity of 43.5 cubic feet, which is more than enough for outdoor gear or a dirt bike, and is easy to customize with cargo management accessories.

XLT

Next up, the XLT model comes standard with the same powertrain as the XL, but you can opt for a 2.7L EcoBoost V6 engine if you need more power. This available engine produces 315 horsepower and 400 pound-feet of torque, which translates to more spirited acceleration for greater confidence when overtaking on highways.

The extra torque also improves traction, and like the XL trim, this model comes standard with 17-inch wheels and all-terrain tires. Larger, 18-inch wheels and four-wheel drive are available, and you can also enhance your 4×4 experience with the available Ford Trail Control traction management system.

Lariat

Packed with a wealth of comfort and convenience upgrades, the Lariat trim is a perfect choice for weekend adventurers. The exterior boasts power side mirrors with turn signal indicators for enhanced safety in traffic. Standard LED bed lighting and zone lighting allow you to illuminate the campsite and make it easy to find stuff in the dark.

The interior has leather-trimmed seats and a range of tech upgrades, such as a 12-inch instrument cluster and a 12-inch center touchscreen. Standard ambient lighting gives a cool look to the cabin, and a premium audio system enhances your listening experience. This trim also includes front parking sensors for added convenience.

Raptor

The Raptor is designed for extreme off-roading and comes with plenty of power for conquering challenging terrains. Its powertrain uses a 3.0L EcoBoost V6 engine that makes 405 horsepower and 430 pound-feet of torque. Four-wheel drive is standard, while a ground clearance of 10.7 inches gives you more confidence when driving over obstacles.

Ford also equips this trim with a range of performance features, such as 2.5-inch FOX Racing shocks and electronic locking front and rear axles for improved handling on loose or slippery terrains.
