Whether you need a hybrid pickup truck or a gas-powered vehicle, the Ford Maverick lineup has exactly what you’re looking for. The versatile Maverick is also quite capable. Let’s take a closer look at some of its impressive features and capabilities.

Powertrain Options

The Ford Maverick comes standard with a 2.5-liter FHEV powertrain that produces 191 horsepower and 155 pound-feet of torque. With that much power, the hybrid Maverick can tow 2,000 pounds. If you equip your Maverick with the available 2.0-liter EcoBoost engine, it gets an output of 250 horsepower and 277 pound-feet of torque. The gas-powered Maverick’s standard towing capacity is 2,000 pounds, and if you add the 4K tow package, you can take advantage of a 4,000-pound towing capacity.

The hybrid powertrain pairs with a continuously variable transmission, while the EcoBoost engine teams up with an eight-speed automatic. Both systems deliver seamless gear shifts for swift acceleration and easy handling.

Flexbed Possibilities

Whether you go with the hybrid Maverick or the conventional model, you can take advantage of Ford’s incredibly versatile Flexbed truck bed. In the open position, you can lock the tailgate flat to use it as a workspace or camp table, and when you’re not using the tie-downs to secure cargo, they double as bottle openers. In mid-position, you can position the tailgate half-closed, making it easier to transport longer items. In this position, it’s also easier to balance and tie down items flat between the wheel wells.

The bed also features two 12-volt pre-wired connections that you can use to power LED lights, a mini-fridge, and other small appliances. With the available 110-volt outlets, you can charge larger items like an electric bike. Upper trim levels add pre-installed box lighting and a storage cubby.

Driving Modes and Packages

The Maverick features five selectable driving modes to help you take on slippery surfaces, optimize towing, and save fuel. If you equip your Maverick with the EcoBoost engine and the Tremor Off-Road Package, you also get a Sand mode and a Mud & Ruts mode. This package adds rugged all-terrain tires, an off-road-tuned suspension with a 1-inch lift, and steel skid plates. An FX4 Off-Road Package is also available for EcoBoost models, and it includes a heavy-duty radiator, an engine fan, and hill descent control, as well as extra driving modes for sand and mud.

Safety Features

As the Ford Maverick helps you power through your day and tackle every task, it also does a great job of keeping you and your most precious cargo safe and secure. A pre-collision assist scans the road for hazards and applies the brakes if it detects a potential collision with a vehicle or pedestrian.

When a vehicle is traveling in your blind-spot zones, you’ll receive a notification from the blind-spot information system, which can also sense cars approaching from either side of your Maverick when backing up. If your Maverick starts to drift, you’ll get an alert from the lane-departure warning, which can apply corrective steering when necessary.

As you can see, the Ford Maverick’s versatility and capability make it a pickup truck that can meet your driving needs. Test-drive the Maverick today at Bob Maxey Ford of Howell to experience all it offers.
